04/06/08    Salvador is 'AWARE' April 29

Dove Award-winning Word Records' artist Salvador returns April 29 with Aware, the acclaimed Latin/pop band's eighth recording. Produced by group members Nic Gonzales and Chris Bevins, along with Otto Price (dcTalk, GRITS), Aware features 11 selections exploring themes of thankfulness and selflessness.

Gonzales co-penned nine songs, and Aware also features songwriting credits from Jaci Velasquez, Rick Cua, Don and Lori Chaffer, Sam Mizell and Jason Ingram, among others. Highlights of the album include the title cut, which is also the project's debut single; the Latin-influenced "Llevame"; the thought-provoking "What Would It Be Like"; as well as "Everybody Needs You," a duet with Velasquez.

"Our fast-paced lifestyle often causes us to blow past the basics," Gonzales says. "I think most Christian songs express thanksgiving for the things God gives us, but we wanted to take a different approach to thankfulness. Our heart's cry is that we would be aware of what is going on around us, that God would create a fundamental change in us so that we would realize that everything that we are is not just about us."

"It was such a joy and privilege to work with the band on their new record, Aware," said Price. "I have been a fan for such a long time and to work with a band of this caliber is a career highlight for me. As a band, they have evolved and matured through the years and it's exciting to see them produce such an amazing piece of work like this one."

In conjunction with Pope Benedict XVI's upcoming U.S. visit, Salvador has been invited to perform at the Papal Youth Rally on April 19 at St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers, New York. The event is expected to draw up to 25,000 people. Known for their show-stopping, improvisational live performances, Salvador is currently appearing across the country, and the group is slated for a European tour later this spring.

03/03/08    Word Records Artist, Point Of Grace...

Nominations were announced for the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards by the Gospel Music Association (GMA). Amongst newcomers leading the field alongside established artists, producers and songwriters, Word recording artist, Point of Grace garnered five nominations.

Award winning and Platinum-selling artist, Point Of Grace's current Dove Award nominations highlight the success of the group's current chart-topping radio single and music video for the title track, "How You Live (Turn Up the Music)" from their latest studio project How You Live, which had been played on Great American Country's Sunday morning show "Positively GAC." After performing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans and selling over eight million albums, Shelley Breen, Leigh Cappillino, Denise Jones and Heather Payne deliver a compelling collection of songs that invite the listener to examine their priorities and take stock of their lives on How You Live, produced by Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, Building 429, Steven Curtis Chapman).

How You Live, released nationwide on August 28, 2007, also has been creating buzz on sites such as MTV.com and EOnline.com with news of its chart rank from street week sales. Landing on the chart at #56, Point of Grace's How You Live debut proved noteworthy to the frequently visited entertainment news sites along with other Christian music acts Casting Crowns, MercyMe and Caedmon's Call. The highly anticipated project is the first new studio release in almost three years from one of the most notable and successful female groups in Christian music history.
