The day that Bob Darby heard his daughter Leigh, who was then 14, sing in the sanctuary of Neals Creek Baptist Church, he knew.
She was practicing for a talent show at Belton-Honea Path High School, and he was helping with the sound on the microphones. While he’d been working long hours as a truck driver, his youngest daughter had discovered her talent. With the microphones ready, she sang the lyrics to “Precious Blood.”
“I turned on the sound system and walked off,” Darby said. “And she started off singing. I heard this beautiful voice. I didn’t know it was my daughter. I knew then that we had something incredible on our hands.”
