Sheila Shares About Her Mom
I am a very lucky person. You see, I honor two people every year on Mother's Day. I remember them both by sending them cards and notes in gratitude for all they have helped me become.
I was born and raised on a farm where my mother taught me many things. She showed me how to plant a garden and nurture baby chicks. She taught me how to do laundry and cook meals. She modeled a calmness in the midst of chaos which could be challenging in a family of nine. She was always dedicated to her vocation as mother. Our personalities were not alike, but I always respected our differences. Since my father passed away two years ago, our relationship has grown closer. The loss of my father was very difficult for me. Since his passing, I see a quiet spirit within my mother that I have never seen before, and this helps bring comfort on our journey together.
